Takes After Photos stay on your device

Who does your baby really take after?

Add one photo of your child and one of each parent. In a few seconds you get a verdict, a feature by feature breakdown, and a card to share (or to win the argument).

Best results: clear, front facing photos with good light. Only one face per photo works best.

For entertainment only. This is not a paternity or DNA test.

How it works

  1. Add three photos. One of your child and one of each parent.
  2. We compare faces on your device. A small face model runs right in your browser. Your photos are never uploaded.
  3. Get the verdict. See an overall split plus who has the eyes, nose, smile and more.

Questions

Are my photos uploaded or stored?

No. Everything runs inside your browser. Photos are never sent to a server, and nothing is saved when you close or refresh the page. We do not use cookies or analytics. See the privacy policy.

Is it accurate?

It is a fun estimate, not science. The tool measures facial similarity and feature shapes using a general face model. Babies' faces change fast, so try it again as your child grows. It cannot tell you anything about genetics or parentage.

Does it work for adoptive, step, or same-sex families?

Of course. The labels are editable, so call the parents whatever fits your family. And resemblance is just for fun, whatever the biology.

Can I use photos of other people?

Please only use photos of people who are okay with it, and photos of your own children or children you have a parent's permission to use.

Why did it say it could not find a face?

Try a brighter, front facing photo where the face is not covered by hands, hats, or sunglasses. Newborn photos with closed eyes or heavy shadows can be tricky.
